Celebrating Success: Recap of the 13th Annual Mary McDuffe Memorial Bonspiel
The air was crisp, the ice was gleaming, and the spirit of camaraderie filled the air as the 13th Annual Mary McDuffe Memorial Bonspiel unfolded. On this special day, our community came together for a thrilling day of curling, fundraising, and celebration—all in support of the Recreation and Leisure Programs at Community Living North Halton (CLNH).
From the first slide of the stone to the final broom sweep, teams showcased their skills and demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship throughout the competition. The atmosphere was electric, fueled by friendly rivalry and a shared commitment to our cause.
As the sun set on the ice, and the scores were tallied, it was clear that the day had been a resounding success. Teams competed fiercely, but always with respect for their opponents. Laughter echoed across the rink, mingling with the sound of stones gliding gracefully across the ice.
A heartfelt congratulations is in order for Nexgen, whose stellar performance earned them the title of champions of the bonspiel. Their dedication and skill were truly admirable, and they exemplified the spirit of excellence that defines our event.
However, the true winners of the day extend far beyond the curling sheets. Thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors and the hard work of our fundraising committee, we were able to raise an incredible $17,000 in support of CLNH programs. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community, and it will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
