Submitted by Sophia Tate & Sheldon Samlall
June celebrates men’s health! This month will highlight how men can be supported with their health. We have found some great resources available to support men with their health needs
The Men’s Health Network has been acknowledging men’s health since 1992, the month is dedicated to enriching men’s health and wellness through a broad range of national screening and educational campaigns.
Resources
Canadian Men’s Health Foundation
Canadian men are dying at an alarming rate from chronic illness and leaving their loved ones behind. Yet, 70% of men’s health problems are preventable by living healthier. We can change this.
The Canadian Men’s Health Foundation intervenes early by offering e-health resources that improve men’s quality of life today and reduce men’s risk for chronic diseases.
We are a dedicated team of professionals continually measuring our impact and refining how we engage men. Backed by medical evidence, our methods are proven. We’ve had some success and are hungry for more.
Halton: Canadian Mental Health Association
The Halton Canadian Mental Health Association is here to support people with mental health and/ or addiction concerns. If you are feeling down, worried, or stressed and are ready to make a positive change, you can talk one-on-one with their friendly, qualified counsellors at their weekly Free Walk-In Counselling service.
It is important to ensure that everyone in our life, including our grandfathers, fathers, brothers, uncles and, cousins are taking care of themselves. We encourage you to take care of your mental and physical health by exploring the links above, staying active and practicing healthy mental health routines.
