Help Get Our Motor Running

Meet Misty, Nancy, Adam and Andrew; four of the 20 Donate Now Through CanadaHelps.org!supported individuals within Community Living North Halton who rely on wheel chair accessible vehicles to get them out into their communities.

More than transportation, these vans ensure these individuals receive proper medical care, meaningful outings/activities in the community and allow them to maintain relationships with family and friends.

Community Living North Halton currently has 5 wheelchair vans to service our entire client population (residential, children’s services and day programs in Georgetown, Milton and Acton). Unfortunately, we are in a critical situation and need to replace one wheelchair accessible van now. Our 2006 Uplander has +200,000 kms, no heat, sever rust at the side ramp and is just too expensive to maintain. This is followed by two more wheelchair accessible vans which are also in a crucial state.

The cost to purchase a new integrated, accessible transportation vehicle is $70,214.00.

The problem is…..we don’t have $70,214.00

Misty, Nancy, Andrew and Adam’s hope is that the community where they live, work and play will contribute to “help get our motor running” in a safe, reliable wheelchair accessible van.

Many thanks in advance! Your kindness is greatly appreciated!
